This was a very nice visit with my daughter Kiara and her boyfriend Ricky, in Orlando. I took a red-eye flight on Jet Blue and arrived around 7 in the morning, then taking an Uber to my Air BnB. Those two services have each improved my life for the better in countless ways, especially on the road! Anyway, I arrived at my room at the house and it was perfect. I should have taken photos but didn’t think to. It was a comfy memory foam bed in a white-tile-floor room. The house was small and nice – good shower and kitchen.

I took a nap for about 3 1/2 hours then headed over to Kiara’s house and we just chilled there and talked and hung out with her two dogs, Harley and Milo. Great dogs, lots of fun and love. It was so good to see my daughter and hug her again and see how good her life is. She has a good job as a bartender and server at Colibri mexican restaurant and Ricky is the manager. His sister and brother-in-law are the owners, so it’s a family affair. But great mexican food with a decent bar and they’re about to open a new Mixology bar next door as well and Ricky will be the head bartender there when it opens.

The next day we went to breakfast at the White Wolf cafe, a restaurant/antique store that was much fun to look around and the food was excellent. Then we went across the street to one of the best record stores I’ve ever been to, Rock’n’Roll Heaven. It’s rather large with several rooms and probably half a million records. The bathroom is tiny and signed by many a musical legend, including Michael Jackson and now Diggabeatz 😉 Then we went to one of the bazillion attractions in Orlando, The Escape Room. It’s a place where you go to escape from, literally, with several different scenarios. We chose the Prison Break scenario. They put us in a very authentic looking old-time jail cell, and we had to figure out how to escape with our 3 companions who we were paired with because the game requires 6 people and we were 2 groups of 3. They put the other 3 (they were all 3 Audio/Visual technicians from PSAV in town for training) in another cell next to ours and we all had to work together to find the hidden clues, keys, etc. to help us escape. It was BRILLIANT. Seriously one of the most fun activities I’ve ever done. Would love to do it again. We went to the Yard House for dinner and it was very good.

Next day Kiara and I went to the dog park in Winter Park on Lake Baldwin. Best dog park ever. Right on the lake and sits on about 5 acres of wooded property that the dogs can run free in. It was spectacular fun. We stayed about 2 hours then walked back around the lake to their apartment. That night I don’t remember what we did for dinner, I have to look at my video log. But it was good, I promise.

Next day we ate breakfast at Jimi Hula’s and that was good, too. Had an alchoholic root beer to drink, and that was dangerously good. I don’t drink much but this could get me drinking more… soooo won’t be ordering that online, haha! Then we hung out at the apartment til it was time for them to go to work. I chilled at Colibri outside on the patio for a couple of hours, Ricky sent me out one of his first Mixology drinks ever and it was delicious, dammit. Then I went in and said goodbye to Kiara and Ricky. They are genuinely good people. I love them. I am proud of who my daughter is turning out to be 🙂

Flight home pretty much sucked but I won’t get into that.

Great trip!!!
