May 25, 2016 – The last week has been pretty uneventful but busy at home. Peggy has been improving slowly, she had a tracheotomy today so they could take the tubes out of her mouth finally. Mom has been doing pretty good and just staying busy getting the new patio stuff done and the yard spruced up. It’s looking good. I’ve just been doing life and business stuff mostly, but I’m still not getting quite enough done to feel like I’m getting caught up. At the age of 47, who knows if I ever will. but I did go for another hike above Tibble Fork today 🙂 Hiked the Granite Flat Connector Trail. Also went to the dentist again yesterday to finish my teeth cleaning started 7 months ago. But the dentist sent me next door to the periodontist because after looking at my gums again and seeing no improvement, they say I have moderate periodontal disease. We will have to be vigilant from here on out to save all of my teeth… more on this later. Heather and I spent a day and a night together, which was nice. We’re still not getting serious but at least we can still hang out sometimes.

The last few days… couple trips to the hospital to see aunt Peggy, worked on payroll, etc, Chelsea came down. Fished at Hobble Creek, did the radio show (the recording failed after 6 minutes so that’s all that got recorded but it was a decent show). Today, I took the day off to relieve some of the stress that had built up lately, and I took a little hike up the canyon. That turned out to be really sweet. I started on a barely visable random deer trail off the bike path at Sawmill picnic area, then ended finding a small cascade, then I climbed some rocks and found the IMAX Theater (that’s what I named it) – a rock overlooking the canyon and across to a mountain on the other side. Then on the way down I found a small cave – or just a huge hole in the rock wall – whatever. Haha Then I just relaxed, took a nap and watched some random internet stuff 🙂

Yesterday I worked in the morning and then again in the evening, doing a set and strike for Rhino. Met with Evan Moore about renting a space. Today I fished Hobble Creek for the first time this season. Got my license and a new reel from Cabella’s. I only fished for about 3 hours, landed 3 fish, hooked like 10 others. The motorcycle ride was exquisite. It was a good day 🙂 My Aunt Peggy is still just doing ok in ICU.

Yesterday my Aunt Peggy was admitted to the emergency room and went into emergency surgery – her colon had ruptured – completely split open and had leaked feces into her abdomen. She is in septic shock and in ICU. She is fighting but may not make it. Other personal issues with people today made it a stressful day. But I did manage to go for a short hike up American Fork canyon in the morning 🙂

Today is Mother’s Day. I got up early and went to church with my mom. A few minutes into the service, the bishop stood up and announced that he had received a message from the Lord that hell had actually frozen over. Sorry, Satan! I’m sure it’ll warm back up soon, cuz I’m definitely not doing that again anytime soon. Haha anyway, then tonight, we went out to Texas Roadhouse with my brother Matthew and his son, Tucker. Steak was decent. Tomorrow is a new week and I’m gonna kick it’s ass!

I’m back home from Phoenix now. Went and bought 2 new printers yesterday. Today I broke up with Heather, and that was sad. But the truth is, I should never have let our relationship evolve as far as it did. I told her from the beginning that I could not get serious with her or anyone for now, but somehow of course, it started to get that way. So, I had to end it. There is simply no way for me to be in a serious relationship with anyone with my life the way it is right now with my Mom in the condition she is in and with my business growing, etc. etc. Anyway, Mom and I went to my cousin Julie’s house for a family Cinco de Mayo party. It was food and visiting for two hours, then we came home. Good times. Now I’m going to work on The Long Way Home album for a bit then go to bed. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. Kiara, if you’re reading this, I miss you.

Last day of Financial Engines conference. Easy day. Will be DJ’ing a lip sync contest tonight at their final party. Tomorrow I fly home.

I’ve been in Scottsdale, Arizona the last few days working a conference at Talking Stick Resort for The Mutual Fund Store/Financial Engines. I am providing all the stagehands and also DJ’ing in between band sets at the dinner party. Arizona is perfectly warm right now, not too hot. My 2nd cousin Stephanie is staying nights with my mom while I’m gone. I bought two new suits at Men’s Warehouse the other day and they are very good looking and comfortable. Reggie the store manager was a true pro and really knew his stuff. Got two $700 suits for $750. 

April 30, 2016 – Worked at the Maverick Center for 2 hours helping PSI load out lighting and truss for a graduation. Then came home and took a short nap. Now I’m packing for Phoenix

April 29, 2016 – Took Heather home today. Then came home and went for a nice ride up American Fork canyon, the one closest to my house. Didn’t get real productive, but did some stuff. Spoke with Scott Weiser about moving the date of the radio show to accommodate the fact that they changed the deadline for the remix competition. Spent the last two hours looking at giant inflatable tents LOL

Have a phone appointment with my Rhino client today. Taking Heather to her surgery follow up appointment at 2pm. Other than that I’ll be working on the job in Phoenix for PSI. I leave for that on Sunday. Mom has been doing pretty good but is complaining of nerve pain today. I went for a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood so I can start easing into daily exercise again haha. 🙂
